Tom Hanks, a veteran American actor, recently chimed in on the ongoing debate around nepotism in Hollywood.
As reported by the American media outlet Variety, an actor referring to his famous relatives in The Sun reportedly said Look, this is a family business… We have always carried out this activity. All of our children grew up in it.
“If we were a plumbing supply business or if we operated the florist shop down the street, the whole family would be putting in time at some point, even if it was just inventory at the end of the year,” he stated, as reported by Variety.
“No matter what occurs, or who you are, the question of whether or not it works remains the same. That’s the catch whenever any of us strikes out on our own to tell a new tale or make something with an arc. It makes no difference that our surnames differ. In order to provide the audience with a genuine and interesting experience, we must put in the effort of “actor’s addition”.
According to Variety, Hanks and Wilson have two children together: Chet Hanks (an actor and rapper) and Truman Hanks (who appears in Tom’s next film, “A Man Called Otto”).
Chet is a well-known rapper and actor, with roles in films like his father’s Greyhound (released in 2020) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (released in 2008).
Truman has worked in Black Widow and West Side Story, and he portrays his father’s part in Man Called Otto.
As Tom previously disclosed, he warned Truman not to use his renowned surname in the film.
